eHelp Awards for Excellence

eHelp Awards for Excellence program was designed to reward technical authors and Help writers worldwide for their significant contributions and most innovative achievements in Help authoring.

Winners were selected from five categories and all entries featured systems developed with RoboHelp®:

  • Best application Help using WinHelp
  • Best application Help using HTML Help
  • Best Help for a Web site
  • Best Help for a corporate intranet
  • Best stand-alone electronic documentation such as employee handbooks and technical manuals.

    Grand Prize Winner: 'Best Help for a Web site

    Craig Clark - Grand Prize Winner for Best Help for a Web site The overall winner for "Best Help for a Website" was Craig Clarke from Richmond, Surrey, UK. The technical author and Help writer won the first place prize of an expense paid trip for two to San Diego, California.
    Newchurch (formerly Agora Health) is an independent service company partnering with the NHS to implement quality and efficiency in healthcare. It is the UK's leading provider of web-enabled systems for managing care, specifically designed for Primary Care Trusts (PCTs). Screen shot of sample project
    Screen shot of sample project The web-based application developed by Craig Clark for Newchurch won the eHelp Award for Excellence for innovative use of RoboHelp Office and RoboHelp HTML. Craig created a Web-based application for general practitioners and consultants to compare and confer on details of patients' skin conditions online and communicate via the Web. The DermaClinic Help system includes context sensitive help driven with additional access to an on-line book.


    This quick and easy-to-use guide was able to dramatically save Newchurch support costs and also provide a 'first line of support' and 'comfort blanket' for remote users within the healthcare sector.

    Runners Up
    The two runners-up for first place were Catherine Lombard from Distributed Software Consultancy Ltd in Ireland and Cecile Thiran from Link Software in Belgium, who both won "Best application Help using WinHelp".

    The Best Application Help using HTML Help went to Terry Birchall of UK-based blackboxIT (formerly RMC Ltd). The award for "Best Help for a Corporate Intranet" went to John Durham of Hoffmann-La Roche in Switzerland. The award for "Best stand alone Electronic Documentation" went to Bill Parsons, at InfoManager OY in Finland.
